[VIDEO] United Airlines’ MD, HR Services Urges Women to Embrace Uncomfortable Situations in Order to Grow

The aviation industry presents more opportunities than ever before for women, but further measures need to be taken to ensure more female leaders.

Soudeh Mansourian, Managing Director, HR Services - Employee Experience & Insights at United Airlines, is the latest to be interviewed as part of our women in aviation series.

She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her accomplishments, including building the first data and analytics team for Tech Ops, building transformational tools and systems for different departments, and managing several enterprise-wide strategic projects and programs. 

In the interview, Mansourian discusses the importance of growing through challenges, the growing amount of diversity in aviation, the importance of being intentional about diversity, and the need for investing in technology. 

“The best way to continue diversifying the aviation industry is by having an open mindset. We all need to be more open and understand that thinking, actions, and people are not always the same. That's the diversity we talk about. That will bring more women into the industry,” said Mansourian.

About the speaker

Soudeh Mansourian started her journey at United in 2014. Since then, she has held numerous roles throughout the airline, which spans Marketing and Loyalty, Customer Experience, Tech Ops and Supply Chain, Customer Strategy and Innovation, and HR. Her accomplishments include building the first data and analytics team for Tech Ops, building transformational tools and systems for different departments, and managing several enterprise-wide strategic projects and programs. 

Currently, Soudeh works in HR services as Managing Director of Employee Experience and Insights. Her team is responsible for providing the HR Services/Global Learning organization and frontline administrative functions with appropriate tools and transformational deliverables, including technologies, training, operational analytics, concierge services, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Soudeh was also President of uIMPACT, which is one of the employee-run business resource groups at United that amplify the voices of United’s female employees with the mission of “Empowering Women for Positive Change.”
